HANCOCK, Wis. (AP) - Authorities say the pilot of a crop-dusting plane has died after crashing near Hancock in central Wisconsin.

Waushara County Sheriff Jeff Nett says the plane went down Wednesday in a wooded area while spraying a potato farm. Nett says the pilot was the only person in the single-engine plane.

Nett told WAOW-TV (http://bit.ly/1JkNuz8 ) that the pilot’s family has been notified of their death, but he did not identify the pilot.

According to Nett, the Federal Aviation Administration is expected to be at the crash site Thursday.
