FREEHOLD, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a New Jersey teenager has pleaded guilty to charges he stabbed a woman in her home, took her car keys and drove off in her vehicle.

Eighteen-year-old Brennan Doyle pleaded guilty Thursday in Monmouth County Superior Court to charges he forced his way into the woman’s Colts Neck home, stabbed her several times with the intent to kill and stole her vehicle.

The 41-year-old woman was hospitalized for several days. Her car was recovered in Aberdeen.

Doyle was 16 at the time of the July 2013 attack.

Authorities say he faces up to 15 years in prison on first degree attempted murder and carjacking charges.
