HOCKESSIN, Del. (AP) - Delaware police say a man who was recently found shot dead in a car in a Hockessin nursing home parking lot does not appear to have been a victim of a random act.

New Castle County Cpl. Tracy Duffy said on Thursday that investigators found a “substantial amount” of marijuana in the car of 27-year-old victim Shazim Uppal of Hockessin, leading detectives to believe the shooting was not a random act of violence. Uppal graduated from Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia in July.

Police were called to the parking lot of Genesis Healthcare Monday evening after someone reported an Audi sitting in the lot for an unusually long time.

Duffy says the investigation is ongoing and a $10,000 reward is being offered for information about the slaying.
