TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson’s Sun Tran will add limited bus service on Saturdays as a nearly month-long strike by workers continues.

Limited service will be available starting this weekend.

About 530 unionized bus drivers, mechanics and other workers went on strike on Aug. 6 after Sun Tran and the local Teamsters union came to an impasse over contract negotiations.

The union says Sun Tran hasn’t addressed safety issues that bus riders face.

A federal mediator is working with the two sides but they have not been able to come to an agreement.

Sun Tran provides about 66,000 passenger rides on an average weekday but has had extremely limited service since the strike began.
