TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Toledo police are searching for three suspects who stole three Jeeps from the city’s Chrysler Assembly Plant parking lot this past weekend.

WTVG-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1i5Sykf ) the theft occurred sometime after 9:00 a.m. Sunday.

Police say plant administrators have increased security after the Jeep Grand Cherokees were taken.

Sgt. Mike McGee says the thieves correctly timed the security gate’s opening for another person and drove the cars off the property.

Investigators say they have recovered two of the vehicles. One Jeep was found near the University of Toledo and the other was involved in a hit and run accident.

Police say the accident occurred Tuesday at Jackman Road and Berdan Avenue. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

McGee says police are still looking for the third Jeep, which was gray.
