CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Charleston is dedicating its city parks headquarters in honor of the man who headed its Parks Department for decades.

Mayor Joe Riley and members of city council on Thursday are dedicating the building in honor of Steven Livingston, who headed the parks department for from 1978 through 2008.

During that time, dozens of parks, city facilities and open spaces were designed and created in Charleston.
