Metropolitan Police have arrested a second suspect in the shooting death of a Maryland man who killed in Mount Pleasant in September.

Police on Wednesday charged Amanda Turner, 28, of Northeast, with first degree murder while in armed in connection with the Sept. 28 slaying of Charles Welch, 25, of Fort Washington.

Homicide detectives previously had arrested Antonio Brown, 27, of Suitland, Maryland, and charged him with first degree murder while armed in Welch’s death.

On Sept. 28, officers responding to reports of a shooting at 7:44 p.m. in the 1800 block of Harvard Street NW found Welch suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at a local hospital.
