STERLINGTON, La. (AP) - The Sterlington Board of Aldermen has approved a general fund transfer to purchase two vehicles for the police department.

Mayor Vern Breland had recommended Tuesday four vehicles be added to the fleet due to high mileage and maintenance issues.

The News-Star reports (https://tnsne.ws/1k4tPgx ) the board’s action will allow the mayor to pull money from the town’s sewer account to the general fund to purchase two vehicles. Breland says $65,000 will be transferred to buy the new units.
