PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities are working to identify a body found in an abandoned house in north Philadelphia.

Chief Inspector Scott Small tells The Philadelphia Inquirer (http://bit.ly/1TTmgFZ ) police were called around 5 p.m. Thursday and found the body in the first floor of an abandoned property.

Police say the decomposed body may be that of a woman. Small says the person’s skull had some apparent trauma, so the death is being considered suspicious pending a determination by the medical examiner.
