LISBON, Portugal (AP) - Arouca routed Maritimo 4-1 to consolidate its place in the middle of the Portuguese league standings on Saturday.

Nuno Valente got Arouca going with a goal two minutes into the match, and Ivo Rodrigues doubled the lead before halftime.

Maritimo’s Dyego Sousa pulled one back straight after the restart, but Jose Velazquez and Maurides scored to secure the three points for Arouca.

Arouca was left in seventh place, one ahead of Guimaraes after it won 1-0 at Estoril thanks to an early goal from Otavio.

On Sunday, league leader Sporting Lisbon visits Uniao de Madeira, while second-place FC Porto hosts Academica.
