NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a 64-year-old woman has been killed after a fire ripped through her home in Brooklyn.

The New York Police Department says Alma Crosby died in the blaze that broke out shortly before 10:30 a.m. inside her home in the in the Flatlands neighborhood.

When firefighters extinguished the flames, they found Crosby unconscious and unresponsive inside the home.

Police say the city’s fire marshal is working to determine the cause of the fire. An investigation is ongoing.
