GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (AP) - Police in Grand Chute say a man is in critical condition after being rescued from a vehicle he had driven into a retention pond.

The accident happened around 11:20 p.m. Friday. Outagamie County Dispatch says a vehicle left the road and went into the pond.

The vehicle was submerged in 5 feet of water, and the driver was trapped inside. Firefighters got him out of the vehicle along with his dog. The man was taken to Appleton Medical Center.

Two other occupants had climbed out of the vehicle. They were treated at the hospital for hypothermia.
