WINTER PARK, Fla. (AP) - Nina Davis had 25 points, Alexis Jones added 24 and No. 4 Baylor held off No. 23 Miami 88-81 on Saturday night.

Baylor (12-0) led by just a point at the break, and then created some breathing room with an 8-2 run at the start of the third quarter.

After trailing for most of the second half, the Hurricanes closed to 84-79 with less than a minute to play. But the Lady Bears closed out the victory at the free-throw line.

Baylor’s Kristina Higgins finished with 11 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.

Adrienne Motley led Miami (10-1) with 24 points. Jessica Thomas added 18.

NO. 14 TENNESSEE 53, NO. 7 OREGON STATE 50

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Diamond DeShields had 14 points, nine rebounds and three blocks and ennessee held off Oregon State.

Mercedes Russell added 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting for the Lady Volunteers (8-3).

Sydney Wiese scored 17 points, and Jamie Weisner had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Beavers (8-1), but the guard duo combined to shoot 13 for 40 from the field.

NO. 9 MISSISSIPPI ST 65, FLORIDA GULF COAST 60

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - Victoria Vivians scored 15 points, Morgan William added 14 and Mississippi State beat Florida Gulf Coast in the Puerto Rico Classic.

Ketara Chapel had 13 points, Breanna Richardson added 11 for Mississippi State (9-1).

Kaneisha Atwater led the Eagles (7-4) with 25 points.

NO. 11 FLORIDA STATE 101, MURRAY STATE 59

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Shakayla Thomas hit 9 of 10 shots and scored 21 points to help Florida State rout Murray State for its 25th straight home victory.

Adut Bulgak also had 21 points for Florida State (9-2). Ke’Shunan James ked Murray State (4-7) with 24 points.

NO. 16 DEPAUL 77, NO. 12 NORTHWESTERN 64

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) - Megan Podkowa scored a career-high 27 points and had 14 rebounds and four blocks and DePaul handed Northwestern its first loss of the season.

Jacqui Grant and Chanise Jenkins had 13 points apiece for DePaul (8-4). Christen Inman had 17 points for Northwestern (10-1).

NO. 15 STANFORD 93, CORNELL 38

STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - Erica McCall and Alanna Smith scored 12 points each for Stanford.

Karlie Samuelson and Lili Thompson added 11 points each, and Kaylee Johnson had 10 points and 11 rebounds for her first double-double for Stanford (8-2). Cornell dropped to 5-5.

NO. 21 ARIZONA STATE 90, MARQUETTE 80

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Arnecia Hawkins scored 17 points and Arizona State beat Marquette.

Sophie Brunner added 14 points for Arizona State (7-3), and Elisha Davis had 11 points and 11 assists. Allazia Blockton had 22 points for Marquette (4-6).

DUQUESNE 76, NO. 25 ST. JOHN’S 57

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Deva’Nyar Workman matched her career high with 24 points and Duquesne beat St. John’s for its 10th straight victory.

April Robinson added 15 points and 11 assists for the Dukes (11-1), and Amadea Szamosi had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Jade Walker had 22 points and 12 rebounds for St. John’s (8-2)
