MELBOURNE, Fla. (AP) - Canadian tourists flocking to Florida for the winter now have a direct flight from Toronto to Melbourne.

Florida Today (http://on.flatoday.com/1NwtfTv ) reports that Melbourne International Airport celebrated the arrival of the first direct flight from Toronto on Saturday.

Airport Director Greg Donovan said Canada is the top source of tourism for the region in the winter months. The direct flights will continue through April 30.

Canadian Marilyn Badger spends her winters in Melbourne and her summers in Creemore, Ontario. Badger said the director service will make it easier for her to go back and forth and avoid the larger and busier Orlando airport.
