UTICA, N .Y. (AP) - Police in Utica are investigating the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man believed to have been gunned down at an after-hours party over the weekend.

Officials say officers responding to a call around 8 a.m. Saturday found a man’s body on Leeds Street in East Utica. He was identified as Jamal Mathis.

The Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office in Syracuse said Mathis died of a gunshot wound.

Police say the shooting may have occurred after a large after-hours party.

No arrests have been reported.
