SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) - An organization trying to revive the shuttered Antelope Butte Ski Area in northern Wyoming has received two significant donations to support the group’s efforts.

The Sheridan Press reports (http://bit.ly/1QVF9Ki ) that the Antelope Butte Foundation has received a $213,000 commitment from Jan Allen of Cosner Construction for general contractor services. Dan Black of Zowada Plumbing & Heating has committed about $91,000 in plumbing repairs.

The foundation has raised more than $550,000 toward its goal of $4 million to purchase and restore the ski area.

Plans for the recreation area, which closed in 2004, include restoring the lodge and refurbishing chair lifts. The foundation still needs to pay $220,000 before it can begin the renovation work.

Antelope Butte is located off Highway 14 and is approximately an hour drive from Sheridan.
