SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Bluffdale man is accused of dragging a police officer with his truck while trying to flee.

The 28-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for investigation of assault on a police officer, failing to stop for a police officer’s commands and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Salt Lake Police say an officer approached the man’s truck on Nov. 18 because she believed the driver was acting suspicious. The officer was talking to the driver outside his door, which was open, when the man reversed quickly, hitting the officer and dragging her about 10 feet.

The officer was not seriously injured.

Police learned of the suspect from an anonymous tip.
