SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A San Francisco police officer has pleaded not guilty to two felony hit-and-run charges after two pedestrians were struck in a crosswalk and the driver walked away from the scene.

Authorities say the 38-year-old police officer Christopher Kohrs entered the plea Wednesday during his arraignment in San Francisco Superior Court. He is currently free on $100,000 bail.

Kohrs is accused of striking two men in their 40s on Sunday afternoon in North Beach.

Authorities say the two men were hospitalized with severe internal injuries. Their names and exact ages were not released.

Kohrs was identified as the registered owner and driver of the 2009 Dodge Charger involved in the collision. Eight hours after the collision, he surrendered at police headquarters.

Kohrs’ attorney, Anthony Tall did not comment on the charges.
