BARNSTABLE, Mass. (AP) - The former president of the Cape Cod chapter of an organization dedicated to helping disabled veterans has been ordered to pay more than $90,000 in restitution

Prosecutors say Richard Trott stole $105,000 by withdrawing money from the accounts of the Hyannis-based chapter of the Disabled American Veterans and by making checks out to himself between 2009 and 2011. He spent the money on personal items, including vacations, a boat and restaurant meals.

The state sought about $93,000 in restitution.

A Barnstable jury convicted the 65-year-old Trott on multiple counts of larceny last month.

The Cape Cod Times reports (http://bit.ly/1Q5uDQl ) that the Sandwich man was sentenced to serve 1 ½ years in a county jail. He will be eligible for parole after eight months.
