MARLIN, Texas (AP) - School has resumed at a Central Texas district but without running water amid lingering processing and supply issues in the town of Marlin.

The Marlin Independent School District resumed classes Monday after two days off last week because of water problems.

Superintendent Michael Seabolt says the district, which has about 900 students, will truck in water for drinking and food preparation, plus to flush toilets.

Parts of Marlin have been without running water since Thanksgiving Day after issues with treatment plant processing, leaks and storage. A boil water order remains in effect for the town of about 6,000, located 25 miles southeast of Waco.

Some Marlin homes and businesses began getting water again last week. School was called off Thursday and Friday.

Marlin police didn’t immediately return messages Monday.
