SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Utah woman accused of stabbing and wounding two of her children is pleading guilty to reduced charges.

Court records show the 47-year-old West Valley City woman pleaded guilty Monday to two charges of aggravated assault.

She was originally charged with two counts of attempted murder in the case.

Prosecutors say in court documents that she stabbed the children, ages 10 and 12, several times before her husband intervened and stopped her. Police said a teenager at the home also suffered minor injuries trying to take the knife away.

The mother is scheduled to be sentenced March 23.

Defense attorney G. Fred Metos did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
