NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say one person has died and another is critically injured following an early morning fire in Brooklyn.

The 5-alarm fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday on Flatbush Avenue in the Prospect Heights section.

Police say a 46-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released.

Three other people were hospitalized in serious condition. About 30 people were displaced from their homes.
