LOS ANGELES (AP) - Two 19-year-old men have entered no-contest pleas in the beatings of a pair of students walking to school in Los Angeles.

The district attorney’s office says Christopher Herbert Montigue was immediately sentenced to four years in state prison after entering his plea Tuesday to one count of assault with a deadly weapon.

Richard Isiah Goodall pleaded no contest to assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury.

Prosecutors say the two victims got into a fight with the two defendants as they walked to Lloyde Continuation High School last March. During the attack, prosecutors say, Montigue kicked and punched one of the victims, leaving him unconscious.
