BETHEL, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers are investigating a burglary and theft at the tribal office in the western Alaska village of Atmautluak (aht-MOUTH’-luck).

KYUK (https://is.gd/Bq3ugG) reports a safe containing items confiscated by tribal police was missing when the burglary was discovered over the weekend.

The break-in was reported after a resident noticed a broken window at the tribal office Saturday afternoon.

No arrests have been made, but troopers say they have identified suspects.

The Atmautluak Traditional Council is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest of the burglar or burglars.

Atmautluak is a Yup’ik Eskimo village of 320 people located about 20 miles northwest of Bethel.
