CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. (AP) - Chapmanville Mayor Jerry Price Jr. has rejected a request from several Town Council members to resign.

The Logan Banner (http://bit.ly/15zgZAA ) reports that council members Estel Murray, Annetta Hagerty and Gary Bledsoe asked Price to step down on Tuesday during a special meeting. Murray said they’ve lost confidence in the mayor.

The council then went into a special session. Price told the council following the session that he won’t step down.

Price declined to comment to the newspaper.

Price was appointed as mayor in 2006 to replace Jason Freeman, who resigned. He was elected to the position in 2007 and re-elected in 2011. His current term expires on June 30.
