LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska is hosting an Ice Bowl Disc Golf Tournament at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park.

Players will tee off on Saturday at 1 p.m. The top three finishers in the open division who complete at least the first nine holes will receive prizes. Players in the recreation division will compete for fun.

Disc golf is similar to traditional golf. Instead of a ball and clubs, players throw a flying disc at a basket. The object of the game is to traverse a course with the fewest number of throws.

A $10 registration fee will go toward the Hunters Helping the Hungry Program. Players can register by calling 402-944-2523, extension 7340, or by signing up at the park’s greenhouse the day of the event.
