D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (AP) - D’Iberville police have arrested a suspect in a grand larceny case with the help of a social media post that was viewed more than 37,000 times and was shared 500 times.

Police Chief Wayne Payne tells The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/1GltidS) 25-year-old William Jesse Ryan was arrested Tuesday after an investigation into a reported burglary at Crown Leisure Marine.

“Lower units and props from outboard motors were stolen,” Payne said. “Crime Stoppers posted surveillance photos to their Facebook which took off within minutes.”

Ryan, from Biloxi, was arrested and taken to the Harrison County jail under a $50,000 bond set by Judge Albert Fountain. Online jail records do not list an attorney for Ryan.

Payne said tips from the public led to the arrest of Ryan, recovery of the stolen items and the identification of a possible accomplice. Payne said a warrant has been issued for the arrest of William Skye Quillen.
