CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A former director of the Wyoming Youth Sports Association who has been accused of stealing more than $13,000 from the organization has been sentenced to probation.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1gBTz2Q ) Katherine Strom was ordered to serve one to five years of supervised probation Tuesday. In March, she pleaded guilty to grand larceny under a plea deal.

According to court documents, Strom, who had been director of the association for 10 years, used the club’s bank account to write checks to herself and to make personal purchases, including Kindles from Amazon.

Police discovered the theft after the club’s new director reported possible stolen funds in March 2014.
