GRANT PASS, Ore. (AP) - The city of Grants Pass is reviewing its policy on event permits after community complaints reported that North Valley High School’s prom had been too rowdy.

The Daily Courier reports (http://bit.ly/1I1Jg3H ) the prom was held at Grants Pass’ Reinhart Volunteer Park on May 9. Neighbors of the park had issued complaints about the noise that night to police and later to city officials.

The school’s prom adviser, Ken Klump, says the prom had not been overly rowdy.

A nearby resident says that the bass from the music that night vibrated his walls.

A city official, Laura Glover, says the city will develop new rules to address noise levels in the community and nighttime events in the park. The guidelines will be presented to the City Council at an upcoming council meeting.
