ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers say searchers have found the body of a missing 2-year-old boy from the village of Saint Marys.

Troopers say Wiley Tall’s mother, Krisiane Bell, reported him missing at about 3 p.m. Saturday, telling authorities he was last seen in the backyard at about 1:30 p.m. that day.

Troopers say they initiated a quick search with local volunteers and also sent out a plane with a pilot and trooper to fly over the area.

Searchers began searching a creek near the boy’s home at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Shortly after 8 p.m., the boy’s body was found caught under a sunken wooden pallet in the creek.

Troopers say an autopsy by the state medical examiner’s office is planned.

According to troopers, no signs of foul play were found.
