GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - Greeley police shot and killed a man who was holding a gun, shortly after a woman was found bleeding on her neighbor’s front porch.

The Greeley Tribune reports (http://goo.gl/Cz6kF2 ) police were called at about 6:30 a.m. Friday after a man found the woman on his porch. While officers were responding, a second report came in that shots were being fired inside a house across the street.

They arrived to find a man in the middle of the street with a gun. The man, whose name has not been released, was shot when he refused to drop the weapon. No other information about the shooting was released.

The woman, who has not been identified, underwent surgery at the North Colorado Medical Center.
