BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - A 46-year-old Bozeman man convicted of raping an 8-year-old girl has been sentenced to 100 years in prison.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1JmSbvc ) reports District Judge Mike Salvagni sentenced Russell Wayne Bullock on Tuesday to 100 years for sexual intercourse without consent and 20 years for burglary, running the two sentences concurrently.

Prosecutors say Bullock went into a garage in July 2013 and raped the girl, who was sleeping in her mother’s vehicle. The girl had spent the night at a fair celebrating her birthday.

But defense attorney Andy Breuner says his client is “resolute about his innocence.” He says Bullock had been beaten earlier and wandered into the garage disoriented.

Bullock won’t be eligible for parole for 25 years and must complete sex offender treatment before being considered for an early release.
