AREDALE, Iowa (AP) - An overturned construction crane has caused an estimated 10 gallons of diesel fuel and hydraulic oil to spill into a small creek in northern Iowa.

The state Department of Natural Resources says the incident happened Monday night in Butler County. No injuries were reported.

The crane downed power lines at a construction site near Aredale. The diesel fuel and hydraulic oil entered Boylan Creek, which flows into the west fork of the Cedar River more than eight miles downstream.

The agency says local officials worked with a hazmat team and construction workers to remove the crane and collect the fuel and oil. The fuel traveled about three miles downstream before it was contained. There are no reports of a fish kill.
