PARK RIDGE, N.J. (AP) - A woman in northern New Jersey is dead after she was hit by a train.

WNBC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1AHRVpl ) it happened at about 9:30 p.m. Monday at the Park Ridge station. The woman was hit by a Secaucus-bound NJ Transit train on the Pascack Valley Line.

Emergency responders removed her from the tracks and took her to a hospital where she died. Authorities haven’t identified the victim, but say she’s in her late 30s.

The train’s 12 passengers weren’t hurt and were transported to their destination by bus.

NJ Transit is investigating.
