HOUMA, La. (AP) - A Houma woman faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder after telling officers she shot her husband in the chest during an argument.

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter says officers responded to a 911 call at 1:14 a.m. Saturday where they found a man in the living room with a single gunshot wound to the chest.

The Courier reports (http://bit.ly/1QIzbgL ) 43-year-old Ronda Giroir told officers she shot her husband during an argument. Larpenter says she was booked on one count of attempted second-degree murder and is awaiting a bond hearing at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex. It was unknown if she has an attorney.

Larpenter says the victim was transported to a local hospital where he remains in stable condition with a bullet lodged in his lung.
