HONOLULU (AP) - Honolulu police are searching for a man suspected of shooting and killing a security employee of a store in Palolo Valley during a robbery.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports (http://bit.ly/1IWNfw3) that the incident at New Valley Store was reported around 7:25 p.m. Saturday.

The suspect was described as in his 20s. Witnesses tell police he was 5 feet 3 inches tall, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and shoulder- length black hair.

He was wearing black shorts and a long-sleeve black shirt.

Witnesses say he carried a handgun the back of his waistband and fled west on Waialae Avenue on a metallic green or black moped.

The victim was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center, where he died.

Police closed side streets around the store.
