MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - A Medford man is facing a second-degree assault charge for a fight that left a man with serious injuries from being hit on the head with a baseball bat.

The Mail Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1I9G3OG) the 35-year-old suspect was in an argument late Saturday when police say he got a baseball bat and hit another man in the head.

The man was taken to the hospital and was being treated for serious injuries as of Sunday.

A second-degree assault conviction carries a minimum sentence of five years and 10 months in prison.

The suspect was booked into Jackson County Jail on a $1 million bond.
