PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - In a story June 25 about the conviction of Joshua Rathbun, The Associated Press, relying on information from prosecutors, reportedly erroneously who found Rathbun guilty. Rathbun was found guilty by a jury, not a judge.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A former Rhode Island resident has been found guilty of molesting a young girl multiple times over the course of three years.

Forty-one-year-old Joshua Rathbun of Providence, Utah, was convicted of two counts of first-degree child molestation Wednesday by a Superior Court jury.

Prosecutors say Rathbun, formerly of Westerly, molested a young girl multiple times in Rhode Island between 2003 and 2006. Prosecutors say the girl was 4 years old when the abuse began.

The girl reported the abuse to her mother when she was 13 years old.

Rathbun’s attorney did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

Sentencing has not been scheduled yet.
