NEWPORT, Vt. (AP) - The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is reviewing Jay Peak Resort projects that have investors from other countries, including hotels and a planned biotech facility in Newport, Vermont.

Jay Peak CEO Bill Stenger tells the Caledonian Record (http://bit.ly/1LzC0Nn) the review started early last year and that the resort is cooperating fully with the SEC. The projects are being developed under a government program that encourages foreign investment in U.S. businesses that create jobs for local workers and foreign nationals.

The SEC probe was first reported by the online news site VTDigger.org.

SEC officials interviewed Stenger and partner Ariel Quiros last year. Stinger said they have submitted documents as subpoenaed by the SEC.
