PHOENIX (AP) - A man convicted of robbing three Mesa cellphone stores and assaulting several employees has been sentenced to 38 years in prison.

Prosecutors say 31-year-old Patrick Dwayne Porter was sentenced Friday.

They say he had a prior felony conviction for a burglary in Georgia and a misdemeanor drug possession charge in Maricopa County.

Porter was accused of robbing and tying up employees at two different cellphones stores in November 2013 and a third Mesa outlet in January 2014.

Authorities say the robberies were captured on surveillance cameras.

Porter was indicted on seven counts each of armed robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault in January 2014 and later convicted on all counts.

He pleaded guilty to one count each of armed robbery and kidnapping in a July 2013 incident at a Tempe bakery.
