KINGSTON, Mass. (AP) - The owner of a southeastern Massachusetts bakery says she’s giving away her shop to the person who writes the best essay about why they should receive the patisserie.

The Boston Globe reports (http://bit.ly/1RIuPDe) contestants are to write a compelling argument in 250 words or less on why they should receive Sweets Coffee, Cakes & Treats in Kingston.

Shop owner Maria Enemark and her three daughters will collect the submissions, narrow down the pool to 100 finalists and have a panel of three judges read the essays. They will select the winner.

The family expects to announce the winner in October.

Contestants must also send in $150.

One of her daughters says they were inspired to host the giveaway after reading about a similar contest in Maine.
