MILLVILLE, N.J. (AP) - Police have caught a convicted sex offender who escaped custody in southern New Jersey.

The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office says 25-year-old Caesar Lockley was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he escaped with handcuffs still on his wrists.

He escaped around 10:30 a.m. in Fairfield Township and was captured at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds in Millville.

Lockley had been arrested for failing to appear at a sentencing on March 15. Police say he did not notify authorities that he had changed his address as required under Megan’s Law.

Court records show Lockley was convicted of endangering the welfare of a child after he inappropriately touched a child.

It’s unclear if he has an attorney who could comment.
