CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Marshall County Prosecutor Jeff Cramer has been appointed to a vacant judgeship in West Virginia’s 2nd Circuit.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin on Thursday appointed Cramer to succeed retired circuit judge Mark Karl.

The 2nd Circuit covers Marshall, Tyler and Wetzel counties.

Cramer has been prosecutor since 2005. Before that he served six years as an assistant prosecutor and also was in private law practice in Moundsville. Cramer is a West Virginia University law school graduate.
