PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - A jury has found a man guilty of the slaying of a Biloxi waiter and sentenced him to life in prison.

Multiple news sources report 25-year-old Nicholas DeMorst received the verdict in Jackson County Circuit Court Thursday. DeMorst will not be eligible for parole and the sentence will start after he finishes a 10-year sentence for armed robbery he is currently serving.

Police say DeMorst was convicted of killing Hunter Miller in Gautier in an attempted prescription drug deal in January 2014. Miller died of a gunshot wound in the back.
