SELMA, Ala. (AP) - A Selma woman has been charged with domestic violence after police said she repeatedly stabbed a man.

WSFA-TV (https://bit.ly/1Hc4pH0 ) reports 31-year-old Monica Riddle was taken into custody Thursday by Selma police.

Her 41-year-old boyfriend suffered severe stab wounds but is now reported in stable condition.

A witness told police the stabbing happened after the couple got into an argument. It was not immediately clear who first pulled the knife. Police said Riddle gained control of the knife before stabbing the man.

Riddle was being held at the Dallas County Jail on a $60,000 bond. It was not clear Saturday whether she had a defense attorney.
