BURLEY, Idaho (AP) - Competition is stiff at the Dot Foods distribution center in Burley, where employees are fighting for a shot at the national championship in their sport of choice: forklift rodeo.

The Times-News reports (https://bit.ly/1Iko2eD ) that workers raced forklifts through an obstacle courseThursday during the center’s qualifying rodeo.

The Dot Foods 2015 Forklift Rodeo National Championship will be held at the company’s Illinois headquarters.

Warehouse order selector Josh Hall is a four-year veteran of the rodeo and two-time national champ.

He compares the rodeo to the video game Mario Kart but without the jumps.

He faces competition from fellow order selector and five-year rodeo veteran Megan Bermis, who took first in the qualifying sit down/stand up forklift category.

Winners of the national championship win an expenses-paid vacation.
