LEVERKUSEN, Germany (AP) - Greece defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos is making his move to Bayer Leverkusen permanent and has signed a five-year contract with the club.

The 23-year-old Papadopoulos joined Leverkusen from Bundesliga rival Schalke last summer on a one-year loan deal.

He said in a club statement Sunday that he has had a “fantastic time at Leverkusen despite my two shoulder injuries” during the season.
