WASILLA, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers have arrested a 27-year-old Wasilla man suspected of burglary.

Chad Kreftmeyer is charged with two felonies, burglary and criminal mischief. He’s also charged with misdemeanor possession of burglary tools and theft.

Troopers say an officer responded to an alarm at 4 a.m. Saturday at Little Millers store and spotted a man jumping from a broken window. A chase ensued.

A second officer arrived with a dog. Troopers say “K-9 Marshal” found Kreftmeyer hiding behind tires in woods.

Troopers say the suspect caused more than $750 damage while stealing keys.

Kreftmeyer had also been sought on a warrant for failing to appear on a previous theft charge.

He was jailed at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Online court records did not list an attorney who could be called for comment.
