DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) - AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have dropped by about 1 cent over the past week.

The Dearborn-based auto club says the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $2.71 per gallon on Sunday. That’s about $1.23 less than at the same time last year.

AAA Michigan surveys daily fuel prices at 2,800 gas stations across the state. The club says the lowest price was about $2.61 a gallon in the Lansing/East Lansing area. The highest price was about $2.77 per gallon in the metro Detroit and Traverse City areas.
