FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Bail has been set at $1 million for an Iowa man accused of robbing a downtown Fargo motel and shooting at police.

KFGO radio reports that a court appearance was held Monday at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo where Eric Webb, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa is recovering from injuries suffered in a shootout with police. Webb is charged with robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police say Webb demanded money and fired a shot into the front desk of the Howard Johnson motel during the Thursday afternoon robbery. Webb fled on foot before he was spotted by officers a few blocks away.

Police say one officer fired twice at Webb, whose condition has not been released. No other people were hurt in the incident.
